Yan Sin Chan

My name is Chan Yan Sin. I am a fresh graduate from Curtin Malaysia, majoring in Accounting and Finance. Currently seeking a position in audit and assurance to start my career in this field which is related to my major.

I have experience working in an office which is located in Southkey, Johor Bahru before as a law firm receptionist before my degree study at the university from December 2019 to February 2020. Although it was a temporary job for me, I have learned a lot of skills to deal with different people, multi-tasking, time management and etc.

I worked as an online private tutor from March 2022 to July 2022 while pursuing my Year 3 Semester 1 degree study. I worked with a Form 3 student in this job, teaching maths to her and helping the student check her maths homework.

I graduated from Foon Yew High School in Johor Bahru. In high school time, I actively participated in co-curricular activities, I was a vice president of the Japanese Language Society. I developed my leadership skills to organise the club and events, decision-making skills to improve and maintain the club operation, and communication skills to deal with the club members. For academics, I scored 7A in my Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) and got Pearson LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping & Accounts (assessed in Bahasa Melayu) in my SPM.

For my university, I just finished studying for my bachelor's degree at Curtin University Malaysia, majoring in Accounting and Finance. My weighted average mark at the end of Year 3 Semester 1 is 80.55. I managed my time well in both study and university life. I have participated as a New-To-Curtin Mentor to guide the new student in Curtin to their university life and also was a Head of the Design Department at Curtin Finance and Investment Club to lead the design team for the club publicity items.
