Assistant Superintendent (shore based) for Ship Repair company based in Selangor,Malaysia
Responsibilities:
· Be proactively involved in all ship repair and projects undertaken by the company (organize repair work specification, obtaining quotations from panel repairers, reviewing costs and follow up until repair completion)
· Responsible for the planning and supervising of ship repair team to ensure that works are carried out in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
· Maintain constant communication with ship owners on all aspects of repair work, modifications and conversions before ship arrives at repair location
· Coordinate with suppliers, agents and contractors.
· Once ship arrives, may be required to monitor a work shop team on board
· Continuous clarification with ship staff of any unclear items
· Liaise and coordinates between other departments and relevant parties, and ensure effective communication and seamless workflow execution
· Observe and maintain safety rules and regulations
· Proper documentation of all work sequence.
Requirements:
· Minimum sea going engineer or assistant shipyard repair manager or marine repair executive or equivalent.
· Have some experience of ship repair or shipyard repair or dry-docking experience.
· Have some knowledge of cost estimation of ship repair, modification and fabrication works will be an added advantage.
· Able to plan, coordinate and monitor repair activities
· Able to work under pressure and tight schedules
· Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Resourceful and able to handle different situations accordingly
