    Description

    Job Summary:

    • Safeguards the legal interest of the Bank.
    • Facilitates and provides accurate and timely legal advice to the stakeholders; as and when required.
    • Assists and facilitates legal administrative matters (such as appointment, management, registration, custodian) of the Bank for panel solicitors, Power of Attorney and non-financing contracts of the Bank.
    • Vets, drafts and provides legal advice/opinion on the legal documents.
    • Reviews the existing and when necessary formulate new legal policy and procedure.
    • Keeps abreast with latest development of Acts and legal issues affecting the Bank.
    • Facilitates and monitors litigation matters instituted against the Bank (excluding recovery proceedings against customers).
    • Facilitates other departments in the Bank on investigation concerning the Bank/staff.
    • Anticipates and assists to address legal problems by providing legal advice and guidance.
    • Attends and assists Head of Group Legal Department to prepare the proposal paper to be presented to the management.
    • Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department from time to time or as and when necessary for the effective realization of the job purpose.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor's law degree and banking experience including Islamic Banking and Shariah financing.
    • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in related industries; with good professional ethics and occupational track records.
    • Strong commercial orientation with experience of applying legal expertise to add value on a wide range of business and technical issues.
    • Preferable in-house or practicing lawyer.
    • Experience in conveyancing documentations (with Corporate documents will be added value).
    • Well-exposed in the banking set-up.
    • Knowledgeable in relevant laws and Acts affecting the Bank (e.g. Companies Act, DAFIA, PDPA, etc.).
    • Possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
