    Job Title: Senior Engineer (Finishing Engineering)

    Location: Johor, Malaysia

    Summary of Position:

    Alcon is looking to hire a Senior Engineer to join our Finishing Engineering team at Johor in Malaysia. The incumbent is responsible for leading, managing, and/or performing work across multiple engineering areas of an organization's operations. Activities include but are not limited to, analyzing technology trends, designing new products/processes, modifying and improving existing products/processes, developing test procedures. Confers with others in the organization to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products. May be involved in field-testing of products, processes, and/or systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leadership in technical support, system & machine reliability & consistency and continuous improvement of Finishing production equipment and also establishes, maintains an efficient & effective trouble shooting or repairs program.
  • Ensure all the maintenance records are properly managed and kept. Generate maintenance reports; OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), machine downtime and etc.
  • Ensure Finishing Production equipment and machinery in the plant achieves minimum machine downtime and obtains minimum NCR.
  • Provide engineering support to production, Engineering and QC in terms of process improvement, repairs, troubleshooting of automation & control system, calibration and process validation.
  • Provide leadership coaching and SME/Talent development for Finishing Engineering.
  • Provide engineering eqyuipment design review for new equipment or Kaizen project.
  • Outsource & evaluate new technology innovations which led to increase of machines efficiency& product quality.
  • Ensure all maintenance SOPs and documentation are compliance with OSHA, ISO 13485, GxP and US regulations.
  • Ensure updated release documents are changed, reviewed and approved before implementation of validation and it must remain and operate in validated state.
  • Participate in cost reduction, cost saving, machine set-up, machine spare parts and improve efficiency of PM, machine repairs time.
  • Performing change request and evaluate the change effects on validated process.
  • Investigate the process & quality failure resulted from equipment / process related problem & provide permanent solution to fix them.
  • Design and write engineering study protocol & execute the protocols which include data collection, analysis and provide recommendation if further improvement is required.
  • Performs reevaluation (REE) on the validated Finishing Production equipment and its auxiliaries.

    • Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

    Education: Diploma preferable but not essential - 5 years of
    experience in Manufacturing or Degree preferable but not essential - 3 years of experience in Manufacturing.

    Languages: Good command of English

    Experience: 5 years of experience in Manufacturing.


    •Good computer skills in Lotus Notes, MS Words, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentation

    • CAD design skill / Electrical & Electronic design skill

    • QMS and GMP knowledge and skill in ISO 13485, US FDA part 820 experience

    • Good skills in PLC and PC based equipment/machine

    • Strong in statistical analysis and good interpersonal skills
