Job Description :

Job Purpose .

The infra solution architect / engineer is to perform platform design and implementation work for different BU and infrastructure projects. Manages technical challenges, seeks and implements solution/workaround by working with partners or product principal to proceed with identified solution.

Key Responsibilities .

Infra Demand Management

Receive infrastructure resource upgrade requirements from Operation team to estimate hardware resource cost.
Understand the architecture including gap analysis and requirement gathering.

Perform Platform / Infrastructure Solutioning

Provide some technical expertise advice in all aspects of the solution designing, including infrastructure and product (e.g. scalability, security, availability, integration).
Work with application team or business units and translate application hardware or resources requirements into infrastructure High Level Estimate (HLE) for budgetary costing purpose.
Work with the vendor team to develop High Level Solutions if required.

Project Implementation

Ensure that IT projects are delivered on-time, in accordance with scope and budget
Determine business and technical requirements and define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility and compliance
Develop detailed project plan and manage changes to the scope, schedule, resourcing, and costs
Coordinate with internal teams and third parties/vendors for the seamless execution of projects
Manage relationship and communications with all stakeholders
Perform issue resolution and risk management to mitigate and minimize project risks
Report and escalate to management as necessary
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Conduct regular meetings and updates on progress of projects until closure
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Provide standby support during project implementation or go live.
Conduct proof of concept to evaluate new technology or products.
Perform other related duties as assigned

Other responsibilities

Participate in Periodic/Ad-Hoc Individual Alignment/Performance Sessions with team lead to discuss the following:-
1. Individual KPI Performance
2. Issues/concerns
3. Other matters

Any other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by the management from time to time.

Job Specification .

Qualifications

(Basic Degree/Diploma etc.)

Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements

Strong technical knowledge and implementation skill in IT technologies across infrastructure (Microsoft, Solaris OS, Linux and servers, VMware, VDI, storage, networking, security, etc.)
Possess certification in VMware, Storage and Oracle Virtualization technology will be added advantage.

Relevant Work Experience

Strong knowledge in enterprise backup and SAN storage technologies.
Experience in implementation of server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V and Solaris Zone.

Manage technical scope and provide good technical effort estimate for delivery for projects.
Team spirit, dynamics and a good team player.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with senior business users and IT.
