    Job Description

    We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Equity Research Analyst to be based in Kuala Lumpur to support the Head of Research. We expect fundamental valuation skills and the ability to formulate and explain (verbally and in writing) investment theses. Please do not apply if you cannot demonstrate skill in these.

    Responsibilities

    · Conduct analysis of the financial markets and companies mainly listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd

    · Articulate analysis, reviews and recommendations of research reports

    · Present regular market updates and stock analyses to potential customers across multiple channels including social media, email and webinars

    · Provide support to the equities sales team on the financial markets and presentation of research reports to potential and existing clients

    Requirements

    • Demonstrable interest and knowledge of the financial markets, investment, economics, equities capital market. Candidates with relevant experience, financial modeling and technical analysis skills will have an added advantage.
    • Business-level English communication skills, both written and spoken, capable of speaking to clients as well as senior management
    • Degree in Accountancy/Economics/Finance or related field or other professional qualification. Candidates with Capital Markets and Services Representatives license (Investment Advise) preferred
    • Candidates will be expected, within 3 months of joining the firm or preferably before joining, to have passed modules 12 AND either 19a or 19b of the SC Licensing Examinations. They will then be registered as a CMSRL for Investment Advice. Probation may be terminated if this is not accomplished.
    • High level of competence in Financial Valuation/Modeling, Financial statement analysis, Writing and Excel
    • Must be able to work independently, under tight deadlines with minimal supervision

    Compensation:

    RM 2,500-4,500/month depending on experience and ability
