Elaine Foster

I am a dynamic, energetic and empowering educator. With almost 15 years teaching and facilitating experience, I have taught thousands of students in schools, universities and many communities and organisations in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the UK. As a renowned poet and community engaged theatre maker, I have written, produced, directed and performed in numerous theatre productions in Southeast Asia and the UK. I am an empathetic youth mentor and huge advocate of young people's rights to self expression and autonomy.

I am currently working in a British international school. My main role is a house parent, but I also assist in the classroom teaching of secondary English CIE/IGCSE, CCA drama activities and school performing arts presentations. I have been a freelance arts educator for over 12 years in Malaysia and Singapore with a specialism in teaching creative expression, English language and literature through poetry, drama and storytelling. I have worked with thousands of children in national, private and international schools. I have also produced and designed youth literary arts festivals, run national youth poetry slams, given talks on poetry education and have performed my poetry in many festivals in South East Asia.

I have an MA in Applied Theatre in social, educational and community contexts from Goldsmith's University of London and I am currently completing my PGCE with the University of Cumbria (online non-QTS).
