About Faiz Ahmad:

Faiz Ahmad is Professor, University Technology PETRONAS, Malaysia. His PhD degree is from the Brunel University London, UK and BSc Engineering (Metallurgy & Materials Science) from Punjab University, Lahore Pakistan. In his early career he worked as a Principal Research Officer, for a government department. He joined National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad for 2 years. Since 2003, he is with present employer. His major research efforts winning $9 million research grants. He published 335 articles, 03 books, 11 patents. He is a Fellow of two technical societies and professional member of several societies.

Experience professional in academia and research. Strong research focus on materials processing and properties relationship of functional nano materials. Key areas of my work include; Intumescent fire-retardant coatings for structural protection, Nano composites for thermal management of smart electronic, energy storage, electro-magnetic shielding, short fiber reinforced metal composites, laminated hybrid fiber composites and machining of composite, Natural fiber reinforced polymer composites automotive application, Thermal spray coating for high temperature application

Education

Bachelor degree ( Metallurgy & Materials Science) and Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from UK, have more than 30 years of experience of developing various kinds of materials for several industries. High level expertise in process research, where materials, processing and characterization can be designed to achieve final objectives. Products developed are CNT based, graphene based and inorganic materials, bio materials, soft magnet and thermal barrier coating. Research experience is multi-discipline. Extensive experience in powder metallurgy, 3 D printing, intumescent fire retardant coating, bio materials, soft magnet and these materials are applicable in smart electronics, construction industry, bio medical devices, electric car and motor, etc.
