Kumuta Selvam

My name is Kumuta Selvam, I have done my bachelor’s degree in Marine Science at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and will be graduating in September 2023. 

I’ve worked as a cashier at Pusat Borong Matahari Sentosa, Klang for five months. As my resume indicates, I have experience in maintaining a healthy relationship with all co-workers and customers. In addition to my usual duties as the cashier, I was responsible for resolving customers’ issues and complaints. I have also worked as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant at SinKung Group, Shah Alam for six months where I gained experience in maintaining employee records. As a Human Resources Administrative Assistant, I was assigned to update employee daily attendance, perform regular cleanliness and maintenance check-ups and handle employees' leave requests. These work experiences have enhanced my interpersonal skills, including adapting and developing healthy relationships at all levels. My position as a Secretariat Head for registration of participants in Klang District Form 6 Ping Pong Tournament at SMK Tinggi Klang has enabled me to acquire strong organizing skills as well as analytical thinking and time-management skills. I am a passionate, consistent, and optimistic person with great dedication and effort. I am confident that my academic background, coupled with my skills and enthusiasm will help me to enhance my skills and knowledge that will be assisting my future career. 

The courses that I enrolled in such as Environmental Toxicology, Geological Oceanography, Marine Science Field Work, and Marine Scientific Data Analyses have given me a broad and strong foundation in fieldwork practices and also analysing data. Moreover, I have done my internship at Institute for Ocean Management (IOM), Anna University, Chennai, India which is one of the well-known government institutions in the country. This internship training had given me a wonderful professional work experience learning theoretically and practically.
