Muhammad Hakim Mohamad

He has 11 years of working experience as a geologist where he first started as an operation/wellsite geologist for domestic and international PETRONAS operated and joint venture projects. Then, he subsequently joined Resource Maturation section to work on identifying and maturing prospects in Sarawak Basin and Malay Basin from 2D geological mapping up to post-drill analysis of 3 appraisal wells. He was later seconded to a joint venture project with Shell where he was entrusted to supervise drilling of 10 infill wells and 4 iWAG injectors where he was involved in picking conventional coring points, prepare FDP documentations, perform conventional core description and interpretation, and facilitate well proposals in Baram Delta (Sarawak). Besides that, he also has some experience in building a geo-cellular static model and perform local model updates, including log-to-core integration in both clastic and carbonate environments. Recently, he completed building a static model involving naturally fractured carbonates. He also graduated from his MBA Dual Award with Distinction from INTI International University (Commendation from University of Hertfordshire) in 2019.
He was passionate about managing a business, where strong leadership and good integrations skills are essential in the world today. Due to his talents, he facilitated the overall master schedule for the Bokor subsurface team which is important to manage the team deliverables throughout the years and he was also integral during the well planning of another 10 wells for the field. Being the Subsurface Team Lead for Inas Field (Malay Basin) for PETRONAS Resource Masterplan project, also allowed him to showcase his business acumen. Recently, he successfully negotiated with several teams from different departments to accelerate the execution of a HPHT project site survey by a month.
In his spare time, watching business TV shows such as The Apprentice, Shark Tank and Dragons Den is his way of releasing stress. During weekends, reading and playing strategic games are among his favourite pastimes. To keep himself fit and healthy, he occasionally enjoys his time in the swimming pool. He is a mental arithmetic, who loves to juggle numbers in his mind. Being an avid traveller, he has been to 10 countries.

• Completed 2 Cycle IV carbonate static models using pillar grid and VBM method with AI integration in Central Luconia, offshore Sarawak
• Involved in 2 Full Field Reviews to evaluate opportunities and derisking near field prospects including HPHT Cycle II carbonate play, BCO and talus for declining/late-stage carbonate fields prior to abandonment
• FDP and well planning preparation for 4 wells; 1 HPHT, 1 horizontal well and 2 highly deviated infill gas producers
• Facilitate Model Framing Workshop to align project key deliverables and timeline for static and dynamic models
• Involved in JV project with Shell (Bokor-Betty Field in Sarawak Basin)
• Experienced in building geological static model using VBM and local model update for multi-stacked reservoirs
• Completed FDP and well planning preparation for 22 wells; 4 iWAG injectors and 13 oil producers (Bokor Field), 3 water injectors and 2 oil producers (Betty Field).
• Managed geological operations for 10 oil producer wells including picking coring point, determining well final TD and preparation of contingency sidetrack options in Geo-Operational & Logging Programme.
• Integrated field understanding with sedimentologist for conventional core description and interpretation
• Managed overall master schedule for Bokor Subsurface Team by integrating workscope and manpower requirements within the team
• Became Subsurface Team Lead to manage deliverables for Inas Field (Malay Basin) for PETRONAS Resource Masterplan, a special development project utilizing low cost journey via FPSO

• Involved in identification, ranking and maturation of geological prospects in Sarawak Basin and Malay Basin (structural and stratigraphic play) with potential volume of approximately 300 MMBOE.
• Facilitate cost containment efforts of USD 7.83 Million by minimizing rat hole for final TD and cancellation of unnecessary logging runs, without compromising target objectives.
• Lead and coordinate the preparation of 3 well proposals and Post-Drill Evaluation reports with multi-disciplined integrations ahead of schedule. Early completion of the proposals saved company 2 weeks of rig standby costs (3.5 million USD).

• Involved in monitoring drilling operations in domestic and international carbonate wells (Oman, Indonesia and Iraq) with experience in high pressure wells, horizontal wells and extended reach development (ERD) wells
• Experienced in performing geological well correlation, setting final TD, wireline and LWD logging, mudlogging, and oil show identification
• Experienced in 4 wellsitting operations in 2 PETRONAS Carigali Operated Blocks (Sumandak and Kumang Field) and 2 OBO Blocks (JV with Sapura Kencana and PTTEP)
