    In the position of QA Automation Engineer, you will have a pivotal responsibility in upholding the quality and dependability of our software solutions. Collaborating closely with our development team, you will be instrumental in designing, creating, and implementing automated tests for mobile applications using Appium. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess a robust background in JavaScript and hands-on experience in automation testing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and analyse requirements, user's stories for validity and feasibility and understand what needs to be tested.
    • Collaborate with immediate superior or manager, team members and/or cross- functional teams to develop effective test strategies, test plans and/or test cases in addition to estimating and coordinating testing activities.
    • Perform the feasibility study for the new automation requirements and prepare the feasibility study report comprehensively.
    • Develop and maintain the test automation scripts and framework to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, errors, or bugs retest.
    • Manage and execute all levels of testing cycle not excluding test data preparation, post release/post implementation testing, load/performance testing, security testing (where applicable), conduct regression testing each time when changes are made to the code to fix defects in addition to analysing test results.
    • Prioritizing/Categorizing bugs and errors per severity level and raise defect tickets to internal/external development teams.
    • Provide necessary report or recommendations of fixes or updates on improvements to functionality, design, and usability of new products.
    • Follow-up on defects fixes and retest, ensuring the defects are successfully fixed and closed. Track application defects until they meet the release standards, analyse and promote the solution of problems, and continuously summarize and improve the test methods and procedures to ensure the quality of products.
    • Responsible for creating/updating relevant documentation and participate in testing related walk through.
    • Improve knowledge management and collaboration through participation in testing discussion, leading communities and improving testing collaterals through lesson learned.

    Requirements

    • Hands-on experience with various testing techniques eg., functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, mobile and device testing, cross platform testing, component testing, security testing, performance testing, UI/UX testing, A/B testing.
    • Define, implement, and drive adoption of QA best practices and processes whilst proactively help improve processes.
    • Drive self-learning and testing improvement as part of continuous learning.
    • Solicit different tools for Automation Testing and Performance Testing across technology platforms to ensure the team stays current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
    • Train/ Mentor / coach the peers on automation testing process, framework & tools to ensure they can advance their career in automation testing and performance test industry.
    • Some experience or knowledge in software development and application or programming tools/languages i.e., Java, Javascript, Python, SQL, etc., will be essential.
    • Experience with management tools such as JIRA, Selenium, etc.
    • Knowledge and working experience with industry standard Quality Assurance best practices for various project methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.), implementation and deployment activities will be essential.
    • Possessing a software testing certification like ISTQB and CSTE will be an added advantage.
    • Experience in CI/CD will be beneficial
