    BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the shared services center has nearly 700 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement and Import-Export Order Management Services to BASF companies and affiliates in 17 markets across the Asia Pacific region.

    Global Bulk Parcel Operations Unit

    Shipping has always provided the only really cost-effective method of bulk transport over any great distance, and the development of shipping and the establishment of a global system of trade have moved forward together, hand-in-hand. Those with access to natural resources; those with the ability to convert those resources into useful products for the good of mankind; and those with a requirement and the wherewithal to utilize and consume those end products are all joined by the common thread of shipping.

    Bulk parcel shipping is a vital part of BASF's Supply Chain in the transportation and distribution of large volumes of chemicals covering finished goods, raw materials and traded goods across the globe. With the growth of BASF's business and multiple mega projects in the pipeline, BASF has since established its own bulk parcel shipping services unit. This unit established on the 1st January 2021 in GB within the Customer Cluster under Overseas Delivery Services (GBC/G) to cater to the demand for the Service Scope of handling bulk parcel tanker shipments globally. This unit will leverage on the current Overseas Delivery Services setup, thereby being positioned to provide end-to-end service delivery to Operating Divisions covering both the outbound shipment of finished goods, inbound shipment of raw materials and movement of traded goods across the globe.

    Global Bulk Parcel Operations ( GBPO) Internship Program-

    The internship program is available all year long and here's what you can expect

    • A rewarding internship journey with tasks and projects that enable you to transfer your theoretical skills to a real business environment and gain exposure to the handling of bulk cargo shipping and parcel tanker operations. Understand the diverse parts of other related functions e.g. supply chain, logistics, order management, etc.

    • Guidance, coaching and feedback from supervisors on performance which help you learn and shape your working style

    About The Role

    • Support in assessing and evaluating bulk parcel operations tasks and its interface with logistic operations (Import/Export/Transportation Distribution Safety) to identify needed operational and workflow changes
    • Support in delivering automation effort across teams to simplify work processes
    • Participate in improvement initiatives discussion to work on improvement plans and timelines
    • Assist the team in tactical projects according to the objectives
    • Administrative management of Global Bulk Parcel Operation activities
    • Prepare documentation of Bulk Parcel Operation standard tasks and also exceptional tasks

    About You

    • Able to commit a 6-month internship
    • Students of Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or any related disciplines
    • Proficient in oral and written English
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • A good team player with high level of maturity and independence
