    Managing Tax Consultant - Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur - Tricor Group

    We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Managing Tax Consultant based in our Tricor Taxand Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Director, this full-time and permanent position is based in Malaysia and offers great coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our business and its' growth.

    Key responsibilities:

    Compliance Work

    • Review draft tax computations, returns, and supporting documents prepared by Staff/Senior Consultants.
    • Identify and highlight tax issues for discussion with Directors.
    • Address tax review points raised by Directors (where relevant).
    • Perform final review of work deliverables for submission to clients/IRB.
    • Liaise with clients/IRB on tax credit utilization, outstanding tax issues, and audits.
    • Ensure timely submission of CP204/CP204A, tax payments, and approvals for tax credit set-offs/refunds.

    Advisory Work

    • Conduct research and draft advisory letters as needed.
    • Review advisory work prepared by Staff/Senior Consultants.
    • Conduct Transfer Pricing (TP) interviews, review TP reports, and oversee TP-related tasks.
    • Liaise with relevant authorities (eg: MOF, MIDA, Stamp Office, Bank Negara, etc) when necessary.

    Administrative Work:

    • Maintain/update Client Tracker and assist in office administrative tasks.
    • Allocate work/clients to staff as needed.
    • Review and prepare proposals.
    • Review invoices and assist Directors in receivables collection.
    • Mentor, coach, evaluate staff, and conduct staff training.
    • Assist in organizing seminars/workshops.

    People Management:

    • Report effectively and consult with Manager/Director.
    • Coordinate and communicate with team members and other divisions.

    Client Relationship:

    • Maintain positive client relationships and strive for satisfaction and retention.
    • Assist in cross-selling other Tricor services.

    Key requirements:

    • Minimum degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant professional qualification.
    • At least 5 years of taxation experience from accounting/auditing firms.
    • Strong understanding of income, deductible expenditure, allowances, tax administration, withholding tax, and incentives.
    • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Office and Excel skills.
    • Ability to work independently with attention to detail, good time management, and a deadline-driven approach.
