    The Infrastructure Engineer will support the Infrastructure function globally by implementing and administering storage and datacentre infrastructure (SAN, server, storage etc) installed across Johnson Matthey's globally dispersed datacentres (CoLo datacentre and on-premise plants and offices). The role and wider team are also required to administer and support Windows OS and the backup and restore process for both storage and infrastructure using global enterprise standards such as Veeam.

    The primary goal of the role is twofold: firstly designing, implementing, and maintaining our Storage and Server infrastructure as well as experience with Windows operating systems and server administration. Secondary is the 3rd line incident and service request trouble shooting/fulfilment, projects, service improvements, and setting standards through documenting policy and process.

    The role will support the Infrastructure Lead Engineer and broader JM IT infrastructure & Operations teams with the daily Service requests, process improvements, problem resolution and incidence resolution.

    Your responsibilities:
    • Administer, maintain and support the storage infrastructure, including SAN and VXRail systems.
    • Ensuring that the Veeam backup infrastructure is properly integrated with the organization's storage infrastructure, including SAN and VXRail systems.
    • Ensure that backups are performed regularly, tested, and in accordance with operational and technical standards.
    • Participate in the CDC on-call rota and act as an escalation point for 2nd line Global Operations Centre teams.
    • As part of a team participate in 3rd line incident troubleshooting, resolution, and participate in relevant projects and service improvement workstreams.
    • Work from the office 3 days a week.

    Requirements for the role:
    • Strong understanding of storage technologies, including SAN and VXRail.
    • Strong experience managing and maintaining global backup software, Veeam. Experience in configuring and monitoring Veeam backup jobs, ensuring that backups are completed successfully, and performing regular testing and validation of backup data.
    • Relevant industry qualifications, such as EMCISA (EMC Information Storage and Management), EMCSA (EMC Storage Administrator), or VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization)
    • Other relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
